Tens of thousands of people complained of problems with Snapchat and Spotify on Tuesday evening - thought to be due to a Google Cloud outage.
A significant number of users reported failings with the popular apps on DownDetector.
There were also reported difficulties with Pokemon GO, the mobile game, Facebook, Instagram and a raft of other sites.
The Google Cloud Status Dashboard suggested its 'Networking' service was experiencing an outage.
A post on Twitter, from Google Cloud, said: "We are aware of an issue with Google Cloud Platform. See our status dashboard for details."
Nearly 60,000 people said they were experiencing issues with Snapchat, the picture messaging app.
And more than 16,000 said they were having problems with Spotify, the music streaming service.

A Mirror reporter tried to load their account but could not access the 'Search' function.
Snapchat, launched in 2011, is hugely popular with young people, particularly those under 16.
It said: "Many Snapchatters are having trouble using the app. Hang tight, we're working on a fix.
"In the meantime, we recommend staying logged in."
An update then said: "The issue has been resolved. If you're still having trouble, please let us know!"
Many social media users posted about their favourite apps going down.
One said: "Spotify and Snapchat down at the same time?"
Another added: "Me rushing to Twitter finding out that I’m not the only one with a broken Snapchat."
More than 4,000 people reported issues with Pokemon GO.
Tech sites have been hit by several outages in recent weeks - including Google just days ago.
Thousands of users reported issues on the morning of November 12.
Many Gmail users appear to be getting a 502 error when trying to access their emails.
Google later said that it had experienced a "service disruption", which was rectified a short time later.
