Snapchat pro explains how to turn into potato on video chat - just like viral boss

If you've been keeping up with all the bizarre lockdown stories this week, you might have seen an article we did about a boss transforming into a potato on a video chat.

Lizet Ocampo, the Political Director at People For The American Way, accidentally turned on a Snapchat filter during a meeting and couldn't figure out how to get rid of it.

Her employee, Rachele Clegg took a screengrab of the hilarious moment and shared it on Twitter for all to see.

She wrote: "My boss turned herself into a potato on our Microsoft teams meeting and can’t figure out how to turn the setting off, so she was just stuck like this the entire meeting."

Thousands liked and shared the post, with many people asking how they too could turn themselves into potatoes during video chats.

And now Snapchat have shared the answer.

Snapchat pros spoke to Mirror Online and shared the simple way you can add a potato filter to your computer and there are just four steps you need to follow.

Here's a look at how you do it.

  • First, download Snap Camera for PC or Mac at snapcamera.snapchat.com/download/
  • Then, launch Snap Camera
  • Choose the potato lens
  • Then simply select Snap Camera as your webcam device in your video chat application. (You may need to restart your application if Snap Camera doesn’t appear as an option)

And there you have it folks!

They told you that you could be anything in life, so why not be a potato.

Happy filtering, stay home and stay safe.
