The billionaire co-founder of Snapchat has revealed he limits his stepson to just 90 minutes of screen time a week.

Evan Spiegel, the CEO of Snap Inc, might be cursed by parents across the world whose children are glued to his popular smartphone app.

But that’s not the case with Mr Spiegel’s stepson, seven-year-old Flynn.

Mr Spiegel, 28, said he has been inspired by his own parents, who didn’t let him watch TV when growing up in the 1990s.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Mr Spiegel said: “I actually thought that was valuable because I spent a lot of time just building stuff and reading or whatever.”

He added: “I think the more interesting conversation to have is really around the quality of that screen time.”

Mr Spiegel is married to Miranda Kerr, who had Flynn with ex-husband Orlando Bloom. Mr Spiegel and Ms Kerr had a baby son in May.

He added in the interview that parents need to set an example by reducing their own screen time.
