Snakes pop up across the Stewartry as stone painting craze continues to appeal

Snakes have been popping up across the Stewartry in recent weeks.

People of all ages have been encouraged to paint stones with whatever they like and add them to “snakes” in towns across the region in a bid to lift spirits and bring communities together during lockdown.

Springholm, Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas and Haugh of Urr are among the places taking part, with some of the creations now more than 1,000 stones in length.
