There was a bit of a commotion in downtown Batemans Bay on Saturday night when a red-bellied black snake went window shopping.
Cecily Short, of Campbell, filmed the snake on Orient Street while visiting the coast, as the reptile looked keen to get a seat at restaurant Pan.
"It was the most excitement Batemans Bay has seen on a Saturday night for some time," she said, with a laugh.
A lock shopkeeper used a broom to "gently" sweep the snake down the nearest drain.
While the snake was pretty big, Cecily was not spooked.
"It was a whole lot scarier for the poor snake with people everywhere," she said.
