Snake catcher succumbs to cobra bite

A 30-year-old private electrician, well-known for his snake catching skills in the industrial hub of Manuguru, died after being bitten by a poisonous snake at Samithi Singaram village in Manuguru mandal on Tuesday.

The snake bite victim was identified as Abdul Sharif of Samithi Singaram.

According to sources, the incident occurred when he was handling a venomous snake, which he deftly captured from an open well on being alerted by a local farmer on the outskirts of the village late on Tuesday afternoon.

The snake reportedly bit him on his finger before he released it in a nearby forest area.

He succumbed to the snake bite while on his way back to Manuguru a little later, sources added.

The sudden death of the youth left his family members devastated.
