Snaffle Bit refurbishment plans submitted to Glasgow City Council

One of Glasgow's most legendary pubs, Snaffle Bit, could soon be set for refurbishment after a new planning application was lodged with Glasgow City Council.

Owners Bellhaven have detailed proposals for both internal and external renovations in documents submitted to city planners, with neighbours receiving notification of potential works at the end of last month.

Last July, Glasgow Live reported on moves to freshen up the Sauchiehall Street boozer, with Bellhaven then stating: "In carrying out these alterations it is the client's intent to bring the Snaffle Bit up to meet current trends, to improve operational elements and to modernise to meet customer expectations and requirements.

"The external proposal is to change ground floor external wall colour to both front and side elevations, create covered seating areas to terraced areas.

"Internal alterations to include altered floor finishes, new decorations throughout including some new wallpaper, wall panelling and new colour scheme, new fixed seat coverings, new decorative light fittings to existing light positions, new artworks and works to improve the existing bar and bar gantry."

The recently submitted proposals are currently under consideration by planners at Glasgow City Council.
