Smyths Ireland warns parents of delivery cut off point ahead of Christmas with one deadline a day away

Parents doing last minute shopping at Smyths are being warned of the delivery cut off times coming this week.

Christmas is just 10 days away and if you haven't picked up all your kids gifts just yet, it's time to get moving.

Smyths will continue guaranteeing delivery on any orders placed right up until midnight on Sunday, December 20.

This does however exclude large bulky items as well as gift cards.

If you want big items or physical gift cards you will need to get your order in by 5pm on Wednesday, December 16.

Here's a rundown of how delivery times usually work in Smyths;

Standard items

The company says: "Order by 3pm for Delivery in 2 - 4 Working Days, excluding orders for large or bulky goods and video game consoles. Delivery is Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Any orders placed after 3pm Friday and over the weekend will not be dispatched until Monday excluding Public Holidays.

"This is only a guideline and is not a guarantee Smyths Toys are unable to take responsibility for any delivery delays which are outside of their control.

"Shipping is FREE on orders over €20. €4.99 on orders between €10 and €19.99 and €6.99 for all orders under €10. This excludes orders for large, bulky goods and video game consoles."

Large bulky items

The company says: "Large bulky items can take between 3 - 6 working days and the charges vary depending on the item. If your order contains a large or bulky item you will be notified of the charge and the shipping timeframe when you add this item to your basket.

"Large, bulky items are typically products that weigh over 30kg. However, some items may be classed as large or bulky items even if they weigh less than 30kg due to the products dimensions."
