Customs officials have seized 30 boxes of One Piece OP-16 trading cards valued at more than 2 million baht that were left near a gate at the Sadao border checkpoint, probably by smugglers.

The seizure was made on May 31 during a routine patrol of the area, the announcement said.

While inspecting the arrival section of the border crossing, officers noticed several cardboard boxes left unattended near a perimeter gate. The boxes were found to contain 30 cartons of One Piece OP-16 trading cards with an estimated value exceeding 2 million baht.

No one came forwrd to claim ownership of the goods, which were probably smuggled into Thailand, it said.

The trading cards were seized as evidence for further legal action.

Trading card games are played using specially designed, customized decks of cards. Unlike standard card games players collect individual cards with unique abilities, stats and artwork, and actively trade with others to build a personalized deck.

Instead of using a fixed set of cards, each player creates their own deck from a massive pool of available cards. You select cards that work well together to execute your own specific strategy.

Players typically buy sealed booster packs and boxes, trading unwanted duplicates with other players in-person at local game stores or pre-release events. One Piece OP-16 The Time of the Battle features three Manga Rare cards, making it one of the most important One Piece TCG releases of 2026.
