Smuggled 'generic Viagra' seized

TAK: Authorities have arrested a man near the Thai-Myanmar border in Mae Sot district for smuggling 11.2 million baht worth of untaxed Kamagra, a sexual enhancement supplement, from India.

Kraisorn Khacharoen was apprehended on Saturday morning after a team of customs officials and soldiers found 112,300 100-milligramme packs of Kamagra oral jelly during a search of his pickup truck near the border at Rim Moei village in tambon Tha Sailuad.

Kamagra, is a generic version of Viagra, used for erectile dyfunction treatment. It is manufactured in India and often sold online without a prescription. It is also smuggled into other countries.

The team also found 2,200 untaxed fashion hats in Mr Kraisorn's vehicle. The hats, made in South Korea, were worth 1.95 million baht.

He has been charged with smuggling untaxed goods into the country, said Mae Sot customs chief Wallop Wuttapanit.
