Smoke pours over Port Talbot's Station Road after fire engulfs garage

A fire broke out at a property in Port Talbot during the early hours of the morning.

The fire brigade were called to the scene of the blaze at 4.45am on Tuesday in Station Road.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the fire was at a single story building and had been brought under control.

A spokesman for the fire service said they left the scene at 7.16am this morning and South Wales Police were also there.

"Crews from Port Talbot and Neath attended a fire at a property in Station Road, Port Talbot," said the fire service spokesman.

"The fire involved a self-contained garage, used for storage, which was well alight and extinguished using four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera."

The incident is under investigation.
