A faulty washing machine sparked panic this morning leading to the evacuation of Dublin Airport.
Staff and travellers were forced to leave the landside area of departures shortly after 9am after a fire alarm was activated.
Emergency services attended the scene where it emerged that a washing machine which was billowing smoke had set off the alarm.

A Dublin Airport spokeswoman said the incident was dealt with within 15 minutes and no flights were delayed.
She said: "Just after 9am a fire alarm activation on the Mezzanine Level of the landside area (before security screening) resulted in the orderly evacuation of that area with automated announcements and bells sounding.
"Upon investigation by Dublin Airport Police and Fire Service it was apparent that the smoke was coming from a washer/dryer containing cleaning cloths belonging to a third party cleaning operator.

"The Airport Police and Fire Service acted very quickly to deal with the smoke coming from the dryer and the area was repopulated within 15 minutes.
"No flights were impacted or delayed."
