Marnus Labuschagne could figure as one of several Australian IPL rookies as the Queenslander's astronomical rise goes under the hammer on Thursday night.
Labuschagne will feature as one of 35 Australians in the annual auction - which includes Steve Smith after the world's No.2 Test batsman was dropped by the Rajasthan Royals last month.
Having never played T20 franchise cricket overseas or represented Australia in the format, Labuschagne turned heads with his brief BBL stint.
The 26-year-old averaged 29.33 for the Brisbane Heat with the bat and 14.60 with ball, as he suddenly mounts a case for World Cup selection at the end of the year.
Smith is listed at the highest level reserve price of $355,000, alongside Glenn Maxwell.
Alex Carey, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jhye Richardson and Shaun Marsh are on the next level at $266,000, while Labuschagne is at $177,000.
Several of Australia's young talent are also hoping for maiden shots at the IPL after going big in the BBL.
Ben McDermott, Tanveer Sangha, Jack Wildermuth and Riley Meredith are all available.
"That's probably one of my other main goals, to play in the IPL and play Test cricket, that's the pinnacle," McDermott said.
"Obviously if you get picked up there you are playing well and held in a high regard.
"So it's it's definitely exciting time ... I've never got in a team so it would be really nice to get picked up this year.
"I feel like I had one of my best years in domestic T20 cricket for a long time. So I have given myself the best opportunity that I ever have.
"I know there's not too many spots left but it would be really nice to go."
If McDermott is selected, he is well aware it would give his faint World Cup chances a boost.
Dan Christian is again the oldest of the Australians available, hoping to be picked up after going unsold for the past two years.
"Despite being 37, I still think I've probably got more to offer now than what I did when I played, Christian told AAP.
"So hopefully someone recognises that and picks me up as well.
"I'd love to be part of the IPL again."
