Smirking Danny Baker calls BBC 'weasley' after he's sacked over 'racist' Tweet

Smirking Danny Baker put on an animated display as he was pictured outside his home just hours after revealing he'd been sacked by the BBC - a decision he has since described as a 'weasley thing to do.'

The 5 Live presenter caused outrage after sharing a 'racist' tweet about the new royal baby.

Taking to Twitter again today, 61-year-old Danny revealed he'd been given the boot by the broadcaster, describing the phone call as a 'masterclass of pompous faux-gravity.'

Following the decision, Danny was happy to break cover as he spoke to journalists on his doorstep about his 'blunder.'

The disgraced radio star then appeared on LBC station to discuss the fallout further.

Asked about the moment he was told he'd been fired, Danny said he'd 'terminated' the 'lecture' after just 30 seconds.

He said: "The BBC have suddenly decided they're going to throw us under the bus. That's the thing that stings. That was a tremendously weasley thing to do."

Danny Baker sacked by BBC THREE times and blasted bosses in epic on-air tantrum

Danny, who has been sacked three times by the BBC, said he was spoken to like he 'was a junior'.

He continued: "When they rang up this morning with this portentous tone, 'This is beyond the pale and abhorrent.'

"I said, 'Yes it was, but you're now giving credence to the idea that what I thought was 'aye aye I know how to suddenly reveal myself as a phantom racist after all these years'"

Danny said he was 'disappointed' with the way the BBC had handled the situation, but ultimately understood why he'd been sacked.

"All I can do is make light of what's happened to me in the last 18 hours," he said.

"I blushed that anyone could have thought [racism] was the intent behind [the tweet]."

"Intent has got to be everything," he added, claiming he had been wanting to make a statement about class with his original tweet.

Danny Baker forced to apologise after posting 'racist' tweet about royal baby featuring a monkey

On Wednesday, Danny had caused outrage after sharing an image of a well-dressed couple holding hands with a chimp wearing clothes and carrying a cane with the caption, " Royal Baby leaves hospital."

He deleted the tweet and denied it was a reference to new mum Meghan's mixed race heritage, insisting it was a play on Archie's wealth.

However, the BBC dismissed him in a terse phone call, with a spokesperson branding the social media post a "serious error of judgement".

Danny then pressed host James O'Brien about him getting a job at LBC radio station, joking that he was available now.
