Former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur star Dimitar Berbatov has again named Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer as one of his footballing heroes.
Berbatov also revealed that he even copied Shearer's trademark goal celebration during his own illustrious playing career.
The 39-year-old Bulgarian listed compatriot Hristo Stoichkov and Dutchman Marco van Basten as his other inspirations within the sport.
"Stoichkov, for sure," Berbatov told talkSPORT. "Stoichkov is a hero of all football players back home.
"But I have two heroes. One was van Basten, for sure, and people who play football will know what kind of a player he was. He was unbelievable.
"And the other one was Alan Shearer, of course, because he was smashing goals from everywhere and raising his hand after that.
"Later, when I used to play, sometimes I would raise my hand also, as an honour and respect, trying to imitate him in a way, you know.
"These two players were completely different in style of playing football but, for me, were just unbelievable."
Berbatov scored 94 Premier League goals and provided 40 assists in 229 top flight appearances for United, Spurs and Fulham.
He also played for CSKA Sofia, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco, PAOK and Kerala Blasters.
Shearer is the Premier League's all-time leading scorer with 260 goals (and 64 assists) in 441 appearances for Newcastle and Blackburn Rovers - 148 of them for the Magpies.
