The award-winning musical Once is set to arrive at Liverpool's Empire Theatre next year, marking the first time the show has ever been shown in the city.
Once is the eight time Tony Award winner that has taken the theatre scene by storm since its Broadway debut in 2012.
Embarking on its first major tour of the UK from January 2020, Once will come to the Empire Theatre from January 20 - 25. Tickets are priced from £13 and are on sale now.
Based on the critically-acclaimed Irish indie film of the same name, Once tells the story of two lost souls who find one another and unexpectedly fall in love. Following their relationship over the course of five days, Once delivers an inspiring story of hopes and dreams set against a celebrated original score.
After hugely successful runs on Broadway and in the West End, the show has gone on to win a string of awards across the globe - including the Academy Award for Best Original Song for Falling Slowly, a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album, eight Tony Awards and an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music.
Daniel Healy, a singer-songwriter, musician and actor, will return to the role of Dublin busker, Guy, alongside co-star Emma Lucia, who plays the Czech musician known only as Girl. Both performers received critical and audience acclaim in the production's premiere last year in Hornchurch. The mutli-talented cast also provide the orchestra for the show. Further casting is to be announced.
