As a hosted telephone system provider, VTSL has made it its business to think about the ways businesses can work smarter and more efficiently through telephony. Whether through flexible working, mobile working or advanced features like forwarding to call groups and auto-attendants, we believe technology can play a big role in helping businesses work faster and more logically.
That is why this year VTSL created a web portal to help our own employees, as well as those of our customers, access advanced features on their telephone system more easily. The goal was to make an online portal that was intuitive, simple to navigate and had all the features users needed to completely control their business telephone system themselves. The implications of this were that VTSL, and other businesses, could benefit from all the abilities of a big corporate system, but with greater flexibility, and at a fraction of the price.
Through the new web portal, VTSL is able to more quickly route calls, listen to call recordings for training and customer service purposes, manage inbound calls through call groups, and divert calls when certain business groups are in meetings or busy. The web portal is intuitive, meaning we haven’t had to train anyone.
In the three months after the web portal was implemented in July 2014, we enjoyed a 50% faster call pick-up time and a 260% increase in advanced feature usage compared to the three months prior.
