When operating as a small team, working hours are valuable. To maximise productivity and output it is imperative that everything is done in the most efficient way. At Vertex, subcontractors are essential to our everyday operation, but hard copies of certificates and CVs were not only becoming hard to manage, but storage was also proving a problem.
To save time and improve efficiency our switch to a digital database took place. This has brought a vast improvement in our recruitment process, making it easier to manage subcontractors. This was once a lengthy process, where each paper file had to be manually looked through. Now a simple word search can be done, making it easier to find and select subcontractors with specific skills and qualifications.
Going forward from this we have also made our database cloud based. This is made for easier accessing, updating and sharing of files.
As well as improving our database, the use of a freelance marketing consultant alongside our marketing assistant also saves us time and money. We are able to maximise our marketing efforts as and when needed by using the freelance consultant.
