We sell drinking water filters to homes and businesses from our website. We’ve developed a combination of flexible working, online collaboration and a cool virtual switchboard tool to improve our sales over the past year. Profit has nearly doubled.
Flexible working: We allow different start times so that staff aren’t wasting time commuting during the morning or evening rush hour. Instead they can answer sales enquiries from home using Skype.
These calls are diverted to one of our five Skype numbers by switchboardfree.co.uk – this gives our customers a cool professional sounding experience during the short time it takes us to answer the call.
Online collaboration: If there’s any issue, such as a missing delivery, the team raises a task on dooster.net, our online project managing tool. They assign it to the relevant person, adding a priority and due date as necessary.
We also use Dooster to track emails and store other business info, such as ordering and tracking stock, product instructions, staff records and other files.
Everything is in one place and all staff can quickly access things even when people are off ill. This saves a lot of time and effort looking for stuff – time which we can spend on the business.
Dooster also cuts down hugely on the need for lengthy team meetings. When we do meet, it’s quicker and more productive.
