How does a small startup based at Birmingham Science Park embark upon global ambitions to help more people learn using the simplicity of sticky notes?
This was the question two school friends asked themselves having developed a new concept for learning called FlashSticks – essentially, pre-printed foreign language vocabulary sticky notes, with a free app to help users with pronunciation.
The answer to this question was to collaborate with manufacturer 3M and its $12bn brand – the Post-it Note.
Eighteen months on and FlashSticks is now being used in schools and homes across the country as a simple and new way to boost language learning, and was shortlisted for Learning & Teaching Tool of the Year at [learning technology event] Bett 2014.
