Funky Readers offer a customer-focused online store for those who want to purchase stylish, European reading glasses and sunglasses from all over the world.
We believe in offering a customer-focused approach and personalised service – meaning we source all our own stock in person, as well as packing and mailing all packages ourselves. This takes a lot of time, but is something we feel sets us apart, and we really care about our customers.
However, we recognise that without promotion we would have no customers to care about! As such, we decided to take on a marketing specialist to allow us to focus on what we do well, without compromising the number of prospective new customers visiting our sites.
In order to keep costs to a minimum, we have looked to automate some elements of content distribution, as well as getting involved ourselves wherever marketing and customer engagement overlap – for instance, we write all our own blog posts to keep our customers up to date on what new lines we are introducing and what shows we will be attending.
We feel that our decision to utilise specialist skills from outside our own organisation has benefitted us greatly, and has helped us work smarter overall. We have been featured in an article on The Guardian and our Twitter followers continue to increase, while we have been able to generate numerous repeat orders through our high quality customer service.
