Smart Clothes to Maintain Temperature, Allow Sweat Evaporation

Good practical clothes must be porous, which means they retain heat but allow sweat to evaporate. The garment industry has so far relied on synthetic fibers to achieve this goal. But now the manufacturers of these garments blend synthetic fibers with natural materials.

Any famous brand will offer natural fibers such as merino wool, cotton or cashmere for the 2019/2018 season, experts say.

"They can be processed with synthetic fibers, and make a drastic change in the industry with this blend," says trend consultant Louisa Smith.

High-tech synthetic fibers can adapt to the body temperature, so that heat can be absorbed, retained or cooled. Smith explains that only synthetic fibers are currently capable of achieving this, according to the German news agency.

At the same time, consumers love natural fibers and the level of comfort they offer. This because the industry is increasingly using a mix of natural and synthetic materials.
