Tokyo Disneyland operator Oriental Land Co. on Tuesday unveiled a new version of the "It's a Small World" attraction to the press to mark the 35th anniversary of the opening of the theme park.
The indoor attraction gives visitors the feeling that they are voyaging around the world. It is the first time the popular attraction has been significantly renewed since it opened in 1983. About 40 characters from Disney movies, including "Frozen" and "Cinderella," as well as songs from the movies are featured in the attraction. It will open to the public on Sunday when the park will celebrate 35 years since its debut.
Parades will be drastically changed for the first time in five years and feature new characters, including the marshmallow-like Baymax. They will be showcased starting on Sunday.
The number of visitors to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in the past 35 years totals about 720 million.
