Small Fortune: Everything you need to know about ITV's brand new game show hosted by Dermot O'Leary

While The X Factor is away, Dermot O’Leary must be missing Saturday night TV because he's back with a brand new gameshow.

Starting tonight, Small Fortune claims to be the “world’s smallest gameshow” as contestants navigate a miniature world to win a big prize.

The six-part show is set to be a new Saturday night hit, nestled just before popular talent show The Voice UK.

Here’s what you need to know…

How does Small Fortune work?

The prime-time game show takes teams of family or friends and puts them in the middle of a scaled-down world, with everything from tiny Stonehenge to miniature fictional landmarks like the Rovers Return.

The games may be small but they certainly come with a big price tag as the contestants will have the chance to bank up to £150,000. But, true to its small nature, one tiny mistake could bring the curtain down on their chances to make a major difference to their bank balance.

Host: Dermot O'Leary will front the new ITV game show (ITV / Youngest Media)

When the show was first commissioned, O’Leary promised it would be “quirky and clever” and that viewers would enjoy watching while ITV said that they wanted to bring the phrase “fortune favours the brave” to life in a miniature world.

Across the series, each hour-long episode will feature different teams taking on the challenges presented to them by the tiny studio and O’Leary. The trailer promises that the fun game will liven up our Saturday nights through this cold snap.

When does it start?

Small Fortune begins tonight at 7pm on ITV. You can catch-up with episodes after on ITV Hub.
