Small fire at Beeston Pudding Pantry just days after it opened

A Beeston cafe has had to shut its doors for a day just days after its official opening due to a fire incident.

The Pudding Pantry unveiled its newest venue in the heart of Beeston this weekend, after a £180,000 investment to completely renovate a former pub.

The independent business has two other sites, one in Nottingham city centre and the other in Sherwood - both extremely popular for their brunch, cake and coffee selection.

On Tuesday, May 25, it was confirmed by the local fire service there had been an incident within the building, which would mean closing the business for the rest of the day.

A statement from Stapleford fire station on Facebook read: "This morning our team attended The Pudding Pantry on Beeston High Street along with Bingham Fire Station.

"This was a small building fire caused by a fault with an electrical intake.

"We are supporting the business who will be closed for the rest of the day.

"They’ve just opened this week, once they are open, make sure you pop in, their cakes look awesome! (Although we didn’t get a free sample!)"
