'Small' explosions reported in inner south suburb: police

Police say they have seized multiple devices after reports of at least two explosions in Canberra's inner south on Thursday, May 28.

ACT Policing were called to the scene, a unit block on Jardine Street in Kingston, about 7.20pm following reports of a "small" explosion.

Police officers were told a similar incident had occurred about 3pm that day.

There were no injuries reported and an investigation is under way.

"A small number of devices were located and they were subsequently rendered safe," an ACT Policing spokesman said on Friday, May 29.

"No persons were injured and only superficial damage was caused by the devices."

The spokesman did not confirm how many devices were found or whether they were homemade explosives, and said police would not provide further information at this time.

Police have called on witnesses to suspicious behaviour around Jardine Street on May 28 to contact Crime Stoppers ACT.
