Small Dublin store near Shopping Centre sends huge act of kindness offering parcels that 'no one has to know about'

A small Dublin shop has made a massive gesture to locals who may be struggling during current strict restrictions in the capital.

The famous Fitzsimons Family Fishmongers took to social media to extend a hand to residents offering to do 'anything they can to help'.

The owners of the store, located near Ashleaf Shopping Centre on Kimmage Road West, pleaded with those around them not to be 'embarrassed...or let your family go to sleep on an empty stomach'.

In such a kind act, they added that they will happily drop off parcels to customers in need that 'no one has to know about'.

They said: "We are now a solid seven months into this pandemic and the country has officially been put into recession.

"If anyone is not working, not getting paid, has had their hours cut and runs out of food or necessities, or times are just tough - please don't let you or your kids go to sleep on an empty stomach.

"Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to send me a private message."

They added: "I will do anything I can to help. It may simply be a case of dropping off a food parcel and leaving. No one has to know."

It comes as it was revealed today that Dublin is at a high risk of moving to Level Four with NPHET set to meet this week.

The capital could face further Covid-19 restrictions following a steady rise in cases over the weekend and on Monday.

The National Public Health Emergency Team is due to get together on Thursday to decide any new measures.
