Home Business Innovation: now closed
In this category we’re looking for creative ways that entrepreneurs run a business from their home. We want you to tell us what it is about your home business that makes it particularly innovative or unusual.
It could be a clever way you’ve adapted your home to build an enterprise. Do you glaze pottery in your garden shed, or hold language classes in your kitchen? Perhaps you’ve turned your living room into an office for your growing startup team?
Maybe you’re operating a pop-up restaurant in your dining room? Or managing a group of freelancers from your home, using tools like video conferencing to stay in touch?
Whatever makes your home business stand out from the crowd, we want to hear it. Use your entry to explain your approach and how it’s benefitted your business.
Remember, the Small Business Showcase rewards innovation and best practice across the small business sector, so we want to know what’s effective about the way you run yours.
Please note: this competition is open to UK-based companies only.

As well as ensuring your entry meets the specific category criteria, judges will also be considering the following overall criteria:
• Have you clearly demonstrated why you excelled in this particular category?
• Is there clear evidence of the measurable benefits to your organisation?
And remember:
• Company turnover for 2014/15 tax year must be up to £15 million
• The activity described must have occurred in the past 2014-15 tax year
• Your entry needs to be 250 words or less. If your case study doesn’t clearly meet all the criteria, we’ll email you to offer you the opportunity to redraft. However, if your entry still doesn’t meet the criteria upon resubmission, it cannot be published in our Small Business Showcase.
Please note: there is not a full list of categories available, each will be announced separately on the network.
