Martin recently returned from the SXSW conference, where Ormsby Street was chosen to represent the best of British at the UK Trade and Investment stand, demonstrating its free online tool, CreditHQ, which helps small businesses improve cashflow by better understanding the financial health of trading partners and customers.
Martin brought this vision to life by striving for an agile environment at Ormsby Street, an environment that values individuals and interactions over processes and tools.
Martin has placed collaboration and communication at the heart of Ormsby Street. There is a daily scrum, where employees gather to discuss the pressing matters of the day, all geared towards meeting the goals of the fortnightly sprint. Not only does this make a major contribution in shaping CreditHQ, but it empowers staff and ensures they play a role in the day-to-day success of Ormsby Street.
This is supplemented by regular bake-offs, with fierce competition to bring in the best homemade cakes, as well as some extreme team training events, that have included learning to sail a yacht on the Solent.
