Small act of kindness by M&S Cafe worker praised by pregnant woman shopping for last minute baby buys

A Co Fermanagh woman who is 38 weeks pregnant was full of praise for a staff member at a cafe in Enniskillen who went out of his way while serving her.

Patrice Murphy, who was out shopping at the Erneside Shopping Centre for last minute baby items, said Joe McLaughlin gave her a free coffee and made her day.

Patrice told MyFermanagh: “Joe brought down my toastie and a glass of iced water and was just asking me how long had I left to go.

“He started to make a fuss of me and asked if I wanted a glass of milk or tea, I said it was grand.

“Then he asked if I wanted a coffee and I said I would get a coffee to go when I’m leaving but he brought it down then and said it was on the house.

Patrice added it was good to see such good customer service and said she would be back again soon with her family.

She added: “I love good customer service as much as I hate bad customer service. So I had to get a wee photo of him.

“We were chatting away and he was telling me has a new grandchild over in England and how he can’t wait to get over to see them.

“He said it was so important to him to be good to the customers.

“I was already kind of weary and tired from shopping and heavily pregnant and it just made my day.”
