Pamela Anderson has spoken about her unhappiness over the forthcoming Baywatch movie, according to TMZ.

The big-screen adaptation of the classic TV show is set to star Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, but producers haven’t asked original star Anderson to resume her role of CJ Parker.

“No one appreciates the remakes,” Anderson said. She also went on to describe making the show as the best time of her life and that the 1990s was a “simpler, sweeter time” for TV and that a contemporary remake won’t work.

According to a source, Anderson’s co-star David Hasselhoff sees the project differently and is close to signing on for a role. He’s rumoured to be working out the terms of his contract and is requesting more pay.

It’s been revealed that the big-screen reboot will follow the 21 Jump Street model, in that it will be an R-rated, adult take on the original show. Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief director Seth Gordon is set to direct.

The plot will follow a strait-laced lifeguard, played by Johnson, who is forced to work with a rowdy newcomer, played by Efron, as an evil oil tycoon plans to destroy the beach they both work on.
