Slug and Lettuce deep clean two city centre bars after positive coronavirus tests

Slug and Lettuce had to deep clean two of its Manchester bars after positive coronavirus tests.

The bar chain said that there was a positive test at its venues on Portland Street and on Deansgate.

Bosses said they were informed of the positive test through the NHS Track and Trace system.

In a statement released to the M.E.N., Slug and Lettuce said Public Health England guidance was followed and a deep clean was conducted.

Further advice was issued to staff, the firm said.

A spokesperson for Slug & Lettuce said: “We were notified by NHS Track and Trace of an individual testing positive at Deansgate and another at Manchester, Piccadilly site.

"In both instances full Public Health England guidance procedure was followed, the premises deep cleaned and further guidance issued to all staff to ensure our teams and customers remain safe.”

Slug and Lettuce has more than 80 bars across the UK, and four in Manchester city centre.
