Slow news day: James Blunt - where your money went

Yesterday it was announced that James Blunt had emerged grinning from a mud bath with Dido when his 2004 opus Back To Bedlam (with 3,020,490 copies) eclipsed No Angel (3,015,703) to become the best-selling album of the new millennium. If you are one of those who parted with real-life money to make this happen - well, this is where some of it went: that's right, on a lovely bottle of aftershave and some other male grooming products.

One of the OMM team who shall go nameless for the time being flew last week (by private jet) to Ibiza (to stay in a five-star hotel) at the invitation of Atlantic records. To cap it all, they were then whisked up to a private villa in the hills to listen to Blunt and band peform a handful of songs from his forthcoming follow-up All the Lost Souls. It obviously all sounded brilliant. Our correspondent was just upset that a further bottle of unguent that came with the goody bag given out to all the hacks on the trip (including lots of 'international') was taken off them at customs the following morning.
