A man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a Tube train at Sloane Square Underground station in west London.

He was pulled from under the train by British Transport Police (BTP) officers and paramedics on Tuesday evening.

The extent of the man’s injuries was not immediately clear but he remained in hospital into the night.

An investigation has been launched by transport police, but a BTP spokesman said the incident is not believed to be suspicious.

Footage from outside the busy Tube station, which serves the Circle and District lines, showed emergency services at the scene.

BTP officers are conducting enquiries and trying to find the man's next of kin.
