Police say Slipknot guitarist Mickael Thomson has been charged in Iowa following a fight with his brother, Andrew, earlier this month. The altercation resulted in multiple injuries including a stab wound to the back of Mickael’s head.

Clive police department chief Michael Venema said on 20 March that an investigation found both 41-year-old Thomson and his brother, 35-year-old Andrew Thomson, responsible for the 11 March assault that hospitalised the pair.

Both have been charged with disorderly conduct by fighting. They’re scheduled to appear in court 30 March.

Venema said the fight started inside Mickael Thomson’s home and moved outside, where the altercation became physical. The brothers were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Slipknot formed in the 1990s in Des Moines. The band are currently promoting their most recent album, .5: The Gray Chapter. According to a statement given by Slipknot’s manager to news channel KCCI, the incident will not affect the band’s planned live dates.
