Slip road near Queen Margaret University closed after bus catches fire

The A1 sliproad at Queen Margaret University is currently closed after a bus caught fire this morning.

The bus blaze resulted in a diesel spillage forcing the road, which connects the university and the A1, to shut.

According to the university, police are still at the scene and the incident may take a while to clear.

In a statement, Queen Margaret University said:"WARNING - A1 slip road @QMUniversity is currently closed.

"Please be aware there has been a bus fire on the A1 this morning resulting in a diesel spillage on the slip road to QMU.

Edinburgh Live has contacted Police Scotland for comment.
