Slimming World's new sweet potato chips go on sale at Iceland and dieters can't wait

Supermarket Iceland is increasing its popular range of frozen food produced in association with Slimming World - causing much excitement.

The MySW Frozen range is adding sweet potato chips and a vegan-friendly bolognese to its numbers, with both products due to go on sale in Iceland stores on Wednesday.

Em @Intense_tents tweeted: "These look goooood" and William Jones added: "Can't wait to give them a try!"

Many restaurants now offer an upgrade on their potato fries to sweet potato fries, so they will no doubt be seen as a bit of a treat. But they count as a Free Food, of which dieters can eat unlimited amounts under the Slimming World plan. And they are exclusive to Iceland Foods.

Rach J said: "Definitely getting some of these" but another commented: "Why not just cook a sweet potato?"

Here is my own sweet potato chip recipe: All you do is peel and slice the potatoes into discs or chip shapes, mix with as little oil as you can then put in a hot oven for around 20 minutes, turn to crispen the other side and return to the oven.

The chips do go soft fairly quickly but if you prefer them crispier, just leave them in the oven longer. You can also add a shake of hot smoky paprika to spice things up.

No price details for the readymade chips and new vegan bolognese have yet been revealed.
