Slimming World fishfinger Caesar salad will beat your diet cravings

Since the start of the year, there has been a 5,000 per cent increase in Google searches questioning the number of ‘Syns’ in a fish finger – Slimming World terminology to help followers keep on-plan.

A food Instagrammer and Slimming World advocate of 10 years, Gemma Bosanko (@slimmingworldxgemx) has decided to put a creative twist on a classic Caesar salad.

The full ‘Seas-ar’ salad recipe features romaine lettuce dressed with lemon juice, fat-free yoghurt, Worcester sauce, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

To add some extra crunch and for an extra boost of protein goodness, as well as traditional bread croutons, Gemma decided to top her recipe with two Birds Eye cod fish fingers.

The new recipe is going down a storm with Slimming World fans as one Instagram user writes “Oh my goodness what a great idea” and another added “Not going to lie, when I read ‘Seas-ar Salad’, I said the ‘arrrr’ bit like a pirate”.

Gemma said: “Like many families, we’ve been juggling home-schooling with working, so I wanted to create a new lunch-time dish that’s quick and easy to throw together, but still offers some warmth and comfort that we’re all craving.

"The recipe is really tasty and includes lots of fresh ingredients, so is great for all of the family, but also makes a perfect ‘on plan’ meal.”

Annalisa Fanali, General Marketing Manager at Birds Eye, said: “The recent spell of cold weather combined with the arrival of lockdown 3.0, has meant that despite healthy eating resolutions, many of us are still craving some comfort food.

"Birds Eye fish fingers are tasty, versatile and full of goodness so we always love to hear how people are finding different ways to enjoy them.

"We think Gemma has created a winning recipe with this hybrid salad invention – and we can’t wait to hear what people think.”
