So Manly are the traditional arch-rivals, right. But in the hate department, well the Knights have always taken a fair amount of pleasure in beating the Brisbane Broncos too.
Maybe because it hasn't happened too often. Just 15 times in 52 meetings since the two sides joined the competition together in 1988.
It's been barren times literally from the get-go.
The drought kicked off that first season and lasted 11 matches, mostly, mind you, against a near Queensland State of Origin side. But what that did was make the Knights' breakthough win in 1994 - a 24-10 triumph in front of almost 27,000 fans in Newcastle - all the more sweeter.

The Knights repeated the dose 12 months later, this time with in excess of 29,000 fans baying for Broncos' blood and getting their wish with the Mal Reilly-coached home side thumping Brisbane 32-10. But like we said, success against them has generally been fleeting.

So why not take a satisfying walk down memory lane in the build-up to the 53rd meeting between the two sides in Gosford tonight with a look at some of the Knights' greatest wins against Brisbane.
1994 - Jul 10 in Newcastle:
Knights 24 Broncos 10
The win that finally broke the drought. In David Waite's final year as coach, his side upset the defending premiers with halves Andrew and Matthew Jones out-pointing Brisbane's Test pairing of Allan Langer and Kevin Walters.
"We were totally out-played,"Broncos coach Wayne Bennett said after the game.
2001 - July 6 in Newcastle:
Knights 44 Broncos 0
The Knights, without an injured Andrew Johns and Danny Buderus wearing the number 7 jersey, had been thumped 40-0 by Parramatta the previous week.
The belting prompted Eels coach Brian Smith to whisper to his Knights counterpart Michael Hagan as they crossed paths in the corridor at Parramatta Stadium after the game: "That's what happens when you build your team around one player".
We are not sure what words were exchanged between the pair when Johns went on to dominate the Eels in the grandfinal a few months later.
Anyway, with the future Immortal back from injury the following week, the Knights rebounded magnificently to embarrass Brisbane 44-0 with Darren Albert scoring a hattrick and Johns contributing 20 points.
Brisbane's side included the likes of Darren Lockyer, Lote Tuqiri, Wendell Sailor, Shane Webcke and Petero Civoniceva.
2003 - June 1 in Brisbane:
Knights 32 Broncos 22
Andrew Johns rates this win one of the greatest club performances he has been involved in.
The match had a real State of Origin feel with 46,337 fans crammed in for the official opening of Suncorp Stadium and the Broncos boasted an Origin pack that included Webcke, Civoniceva, Gorden Tallis, Toni Carroll, Dane Carlaw, Cory Parker and Andrew Gee.
The Knights had never beaten Brisbane in Brisbane but came from behind at halftime to score a stirring 10 point victory with Anthony Quinn and Timana Tahu scoring try doubles.
2004 - May 14 in Brisbane:
Knights 17 Brisbane 16
On the Kurt Gidley highlight reel this one.
Less than 12 months after breaking their duck in Brisbane, Michael Hagan's Knights did it again with Gidley stepping up to the plate in the absence of an injured Johns to kick Newcastle's first ever golden point field goal for one of the club's most memorable backs-to-the-wall victories.
If there is such a thing as an ugly match-winner, Gidley's wobbly effort that just cleared the crossbar was it but it sent the visitors into raptures and left 32,000 Brisbane fans stunned at what they had just witnessed.
The Knights, with Gidley and Steve Witt in the halves that night, had pulled off the unthinkable.
2013 - Aug 30 in Brisbane:
Knights 26 Brisbane 18
With Kurt Gidley and Jarrod Mullen in the halves and Danny Buderus, Willie Mason and Alex McKinnon in the forward pack, the Wayne Bennett-coached Knights recovered from a 14-6 halftime deficit at Suncorp Stadium to take a crucial eight point win.
They were coming off two straight defeats with their top eight spot in jeopardy but the win over Brisbane was the start of a run of four straight wins that took the side to the preliminary final against the Sydney Roosters.
