Sligo Rovers have sold Jordan Gibson to Carlisle United for an undisclosed fee.
The attacker only joined the Bit O’Red from St Pat’s at the start of the season and proved an instant hit scoring seven goals in 25 games.
But League Two side Carlisle have swooped for the Englishman who previously played for Bradford City and Rangers.
Sligo Rovers boss Liam Buckley said: “Jordan has made a good contribution since coming to the club.
“At the end of last season with St Pat’s, he wanted to return to England and we convinced him to stay in the league and move here with us.
“As we look back, that was a good move for both Jordan and Sligo Rovers.
“We did say at the time we would help him to get that move home if something arose and a suitable offer came in.
“Jordan has that desire to go back to England and the deal with Carlisle was a good one for all parties.
“We have added to the squad with four players in the window and I feel we’re quite strong for the remainder of the season.”
Meanwhile, there have been a number of fixture changes announced for the SSE Airtricity Premier Division.
Finn Harps v Bohemians, originally scheduled for Friday, July 30, will take place on Monday, September 13, with kick-off at 8pm.
Sligo Rovers v Dundalk, originally scheduled for Saturday, July 31, will now take place on Tuesday, September 14, with kick-off at
7.45pm. Sligo Rovers v Shamrock Rovers, originally scheduled for Friday, July 9, will take place on Saturday, September 18, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
