There are plenty of options when it comes to finding top notch Asian food in Bristol - but there's always room for one more.
Fans of the cuisine will be delighted to hear that a brand new restaurant has opened in the city centre, taking over a prominent building which was formerly a café.
Caffe Vero closed in August 2017, blaming difficult trading conditions on the nearby MetroBus construction work.
Although its owner told Bristol Live the closure was only temporary, the café did not reopen after the disruptive work finished.
Given its prime location, on the corner of Small Street and Quay Street, it is good news that the building is no longer vacant, after a restaurateur decided to open his latest venture there.
It's Not Hotpot opened at the end of May and brings an authentic taste of Southeast Asia to the city centre.
Headed up by Kwan Voong, who also runs a number of other restaurants in Bristol, the restaurant will soon allow customers to scan a QR code and order at their tables using their mobile phones, adding a unique and modern edge to eating out.
Currently, customers order food by ticking which items they would like on a piece of paper and they can then cook the fresh ingredients in a pot of soup on top of an induction cooker installed into the table.
Kwan said that the restaurant is proving popular so far.
"We've been really busy so far and people love this unique feature," he told Bristol Live.
"Although our main target audience is international students, we have also found that locals have shown some acceptance to this type of cuisine.
"With our DIY approach, which allows customers to cook at their tables, we offer a wide range of flavours associated to the different regions of Southeast Asia."
The design inside the restaurant is slick and modern, with exposed light bulbs and minimal artwork adorning the stripped back walls.
It's Not Hotpot is located at 12 Small Street, BS1 1DB.
