Sleuth or Dare by Robin Benway - review

Robin Benway, Sleuth or Dare: An AKA Novel (Great Spies)

Maggie Silver is no ordinary teenager – as a former code cracker and member of a secret association, life has never been normal. But when things go wrong, will Maggie ever be able to see her boyfriend, Jessie, or her best friend Roux? Life has always been different in the Silver family but her parent's backgrounds have always risked her friendships and securities.

The problem with having a boyfriend, best friend and a mission at a same time means some things must go first. But when an important date with her boyfriend clashes with a mission, will she be able to patch up her friendship problems as more and more friends are lost?

When her parents get accused of a crime Maggie, along with Jessie and Roux, must find the truth. In the tunnels of Paris, Maggie must find out what the secret association want with them and resolve her arguments before she's truly gone…

This book is not one of Benway's best novels as I couldn't grasp the message of the book. If you prefer romantic spy novels then you'd like this. However, I didn't see the story happening in my head, it was just a page of words for me. This was quite a disappointment for me, but, then again, it would suit other readers more than it suited me. For readers aged 11+.
