Quarter-final, first leg
Venue:

Date: Thursday, 11 April, 2019
Kick-off: 8pm GMT

Chelsea travel to Czech Republic as they look to take a step towards reaching the Europa League semi-final against Slavia Prague.

The Blues are scrapping for a top four finish alongside Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City but success in this competition could still be there best route back into the Champions League next season.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have scored 25 times in this competition this season – conceding just three – with Olivier Giroud spearheading their run to the final with nine goals.

But having knocked out the competition’s most successful side in Sevilla in the previous round – Slavia Prague are out to cause another upset.

Chelsea team news and predicted line-ups

With Gonzalo Higuain leading the line against West Ham on Monday night, Giroud seems certain to return on Thursday.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have often had to wait for the Europa League for starts this season but both featured from the off at Stamford Bridge against the Hammers.

Eden Hazard has started just one game in the Europa League this season, getting just 19 minutes in the knockout stages. With a trip to Liverpool looming on Sunday, the Belgium international could be rested again.

Score prediction: Slavia Prague 0-2 Chelsea

The Blues have turned in superb performances away to Malmo and Dynamo Kiev since escaping their group – another one should be on the cards this week.
