Slavia Prague goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar has been left with gruesome injuries after he clashed with Rangers striker Kemar Roofe.
The shotstopper was on the receiving end of a high boot as he went in for a 50:50 challenge.
Roofe's boot was raised and he planted his foot into Kolar's face, leaving him with horrific cuts.
The Slavia keeper had to be carried off on a stretcher just after the hour mark following the clash.
Rangers saw their forward sent-off for the challenge but Kolar's efforts were not in vain as the Czech side advanced into the last eight.
A goal in each half secured a 2-0 win at Ibrox - 3-1 on aggregate - as the Scots finished with nine men.

Images have circulated showing the extent of his injuries with deep cuts on his forehead and below his left eye.
Kolar was patched up and sat pitchside as the game drew to its conclusion.
The game was overshadowed though amid accusations of racist abuse directed at Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
Ondrej Kudela, who replaced Kolar following his injury, was reportedly confronted after the game having been accused of hurling the abuse.
Steven Gerrard has urged UEFA to take swift action and an investigation is already ongoing.

"My player tells me he was racially abused," he said.
"The disappointing thing is that their people are trying to defend their player and calling us liars.
"I feel angry. I know Glen and trust him 100%. The Slavia player has caused this and something needs to happen quickly but that is above me.
"But whatever happens, I stand next to Glen.
"I don't even feel like talking about football just now. It's over to Uefa now and I just hope it doesn't get pushed under the carpet."
