Slavia Prague given explosive Rangers welcome as firework display gives Europa League foes sleepless night

Slavia Prague were welcomed to Glasgow in style early on Thursday morning - after a fireworks display was set off outside their hotel at 2am.

Rangers ' opponents landed in Scotland on Wednesday ahead of the Europa League tie and trained at Ibrox before heading back to the Crowne Plaza in the centre of Glasgow.

They might have been hoping for a good night's sleep as they look to get the better of Steven Gerrard 's team and book a place in the quarter-finals.

But there was a late night disturbance, as a video has emerged on social media showing a vibrant firework display being set off outside their digs... at 2 in the morning.

Posted with a wink by Rangers fan group Rangers on Tour, the video shows the colourful display in action within yards of the 4-star hotel where Jindrich Trpisovsky and his players were staying.

Slavia will face Rangers on Thursday knowing they need to score at Ibrox to advance.

They had the better of the first leg in Prague but Filip Helander 's header cancelled out Nicolae Stanciu's stunning opener.

And a late wonder-save from Allan McGregor ensured Rangers have an away-goals edge heading into the Ibrox second leg.

They will progress if they don't concede on the night, but the visitors took a 2-0 win away at Leicester in the previous round and will not roll over easily.
