Slaven Bilic sends promotion message to Leeds United ahead of Championship restart

West Bromwich Albion manager Slaven Bilic has warned Leeds United and their promotion rivals the Baggies are solely focussed on earning promotion to the Premier League and won't be affected by playing behind closed doors.

The Championship campaign restarts on Saturday, with each club set to play out their final nine matches.

Leeds United face Cardiff City on Sunday, while West Brom host Birmingham City.

The Whites hold a seven-point advantage over Fulham in third, while Bilic's side sit just a point behind Leeds with nine games to play.

The season will, of course, resume without supporters and while clubs have kept a keen eye on the Bundesliga's return in Germany and La Liga in Spain, the full effect on the English game is unclear.

With that in mind, Bilic has issued a rallying cry to his side, warning West Brom's rivals that they are 100 per cent focussed on ensuring they're a top-flight club next season.

"Nothing is easy," Bilic told the Daily Mail.

"There is big pressure on us and playing in empty stadiums shouldn't change our attitude.

"Our goal is not to have somebody clap us. The goal is going to the Premier League. That kind of achievement requires that you cope with pressure.

"We want to finish the season as we were doing. We were up there. Of course, there is a long way to go but we are in a good position and have a strong belief in ourselves."
