Jeremy O Harris, the playwright behind Slave Play, has called out Louis CK after the disgraced comedian attended his Broadway show.
In 2017, The New York Times published an exposé including accusations from multiple women that CK exposed himself and masturbated in front of them. CK later admitted the sexual misconduct.
“Ummmm...did Louis CK jack off in my audience tonight...?” wrote Harris on Twitter, after the comic went to see his play.
He later tweeted: “Louis was one of my favourite shows and I forgave his shitty ‘f**’ joke for years in college even though so many of my dumb friends would cite the joke as an example of how it was ok for straights to say f****t when it’s funny. Then I had a friend who he did this to. F*** you CK.”
In a statement addressing the allegations made against him in 2017, CK said: “These stories are true. At the time, I said to myself that what I did was OK because I never showed a woman my d**k without asking first, which is also true.
“But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your d**k isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them.”
One month after the allegations came to light, CK staged a controversial comeback show. He sometimes addresses the misconduct during comedy sets.
Slave Play is a provocative show about race, sex, power relations, trauma, and interracial relationships. It follows three interracial couples undergoing Antebellum Sexual Performance Therapy because the black partners no longer feel sexual attraction to their white partners.
It is currently showing at the John Golden Theatre in New York.
