Slam Tent Edinburgh cancelled as Hopetoun House music event moved to Otherlands Festival

The return of the Slam Tent has been postponed, with organisers taking the decision to move the event from Edinburgh to a new festival in Perth.

The Slam Tent had been due to be hosted at the capital's Hopetoun House at the end of this month, from April 29 until May 1, but ticket holders have been informed the music event will form part of the newly launched Otherlands Festival at Scone Palace this August.

Those who had been due to attend Hopetoun House this April have been given the option of receiving a refund or transferring their ticket to the Otherlands Festival.

An Instagram post confirming the move said: "The Return Of The Slam Tent in April has been cancelled - all customers have been notified with information on how to receive refunds or transfer their ticket to an Otherlands day ticket, which will feature The Slam Tent."

Ticketholders are advised to email events@flyevents.co.uk with any questions about refunds.

The legendary 'cave of rave' had been due to come to Edinburgh following a six year hiatus after the T in the Park festival was brought to a close for the final time. Originally due to be held in 2021, it had to be postponed due to the pandemic.

Created by legendary DJs Slam, the Slam Tent was considered a music mecca for techno fans, becoming an essential fixture at T in the Park after its introduction way back in 1997.

The lineup at Hopetoun House was due to include the likes of Optimo, Skream, Len Faki, Jasper James and Slam themselves over the three days.

Festival organisers have been contacted for further comment.
