Slack down: work app and site hit by outage leaving home workers fuming

Home workers across the UK have been left in the lurch this morning after popular workplace messaging app Slack went down.

Users have reported that messages have been disappearing, images are not showing and files are unable to be uploaded to the site.

The issues seem to be inconsistent, with different users experiencing various issues but they do all appear to be present on a variety of platforms - with outage occuring on apps, on the desktop site and on both Android and Apple products.

A spokesperson for Slack wrote on the company ’s website: ‘Some people may be having an issue with Slack. ‘We’re currently investigating and will have more information shortly. Thank you for your patience.’

The outage appears to be mainly affecting users in the UK and Japan.

Tracking website Down Detector have reported a range of problems - with the issues beginning at 10:57 AM BST today.

Users of the messaging service have taken to Twitter to voice their frustrations, with one person tweeting: "If slack is down for more than fifteen minutes legally you can take the day off."
