Skyscanner shares simple booking hack to save money on flights

Everyone loves a hack, especially when it comes to saving money on holiday bookings.

So leading travel company, Skyscanner , has shared some hacks to get the best deals when booking a flight after looking at their previous data.

The company has identified Friday as the cheapest day to fly, and Tuesday as the most expensive day to fly from Britain.

Skyscanner's report showed that travellers could save up to 11% on flights if they switched their departure date from a Tuesday to a Friday.

It's worth noting, however, that Friday was also the busiest day to travel in 2019, so if you don't enjoy chaos, you might want to rethink your plans.

Meanwhile, Sunday is often the quietest day to travel.

And while Tuesday is the most expensive day to fly, it's Monday that tends to be the most expensive day to book.

Wednesday, however, appears to be the best day to book cheap flights.

So if you book a flight on Wednesday that departs on Friday, you're winning.

Skyscanner also pointed out that flights are set to be cheaper in 2020, with economy prices down 7% year-on-year and the average price of First Class or long haul flights down 5%.

Another hack the leading travel company shared could also save you money.

Skyscanner suggests mix and matching airlines if you're able to, as fares don't have to be booked as returns - so you could save by flying out with one airline and returning with another.
